Soft pink Amelia pleated handbag

14/09/2013

My first Amelia pleated handbag, with adjustable shoulder strap length, using SusieDDesignsUK pattern. Made with recycled curtain fabric found in a Melbourne opportunity shop. The fabric is in excellent condition. It was a very large piece so I will enjoy making other designs with this strong fabric in a classic floral pattern.

Orange flower Emma hobo bag

03/09/2013

This beautiful orange and green floral fabric was found in a trash and treasure shop in Newtown, Sydney a year ago. Sometimes, it’s hard to actually make that first cut in to a fabric you have fallen in love with – but it has to be done. This fabric has been transformed in to an […]

Soft pink floral tote bag

01/09/2013

This tote bag is fully made from recycled fabric (apart from the cotton twill tape used for the handle). The floral fabric was also used for an elephant – there’s none left now, sadly, as I love this fabric. The base of the bag is made from a strong gabardine fabric and the lining is […]

A three-piece butterfly ensemble – dress, bag and toy elephant – made a lovely gift for a 2-3 year old girl.

Big sur

01/09/2013

This photo has nothing to do with sewing. It’s a test photo, of a beach on the Big Sur coastline in California that was created when sand accumulated in a cove after a landslide 30 years ago.

Soft pink floral elephant

31/08/2013

This soft, gentle floral fabric makes a delightful elephant. The floral is a recycled fabric my mother found at the Bowerbird Boutique opportunity shop in Euroa, Victoria, where she is a volunteer. I found the home deco fabric for the ears in a Melbourne opportunity shop. My favourite of all my elephants!
